Good day
l have an HP Probook 650 G4 with no power. I did my diagnosis and find out that the charging IC Intersil 9538H was fault. I replaced with a working one however still there was no power.
Later on l realised that if you bridge the first power mosfet or replace with a faulty one you get power however the motherboard wont charge the battery. Infact on the +ve battery terminal you get 19V instead of 11.9V charging voltage.
l tried to look for another fault component on the main power rail but l didn't get anything. Please kindly help me am stuck. I'm also experiencing the same problem on HP Elitebook 840 G5
Link the schematics or more details of the logic board. Silk screen markings?
With 19v at the battery, the bms board in the battery pack is probably in a locked state, for safety. This voltage is just too high.
Refrain from using the battery at all till the main power path issues are resolved. Review the battery charger sticky above by piernov.
